Bought the first 100 board feet of 8/4 Walnut...not enough storage in my shop to get it all in one go...so I have to buy and build. The KSS80 should come in really handy breaking this material down. Cannot wait to get started.

looks nice. I was just making some kids toys out of walnut. I have a love hate relationship with it. Hard as heck and difficult to router but sure is pretty!

I am excited to see your progress as it moves forward. Sorry, off subject- Is the boom arm worth it? I have considered getting one for a while. EDIT: I have a bunch of walnut that I have had in my shop for years. Quite a bunch of it is short (like 3 or 4') and wide (18-24"). They would likely be perfect to carve into chair seats. If you lived closer to Utah i'd have you swing by and see if they would work out . I bought a lot of walnut on a great deal probably 8 years ago and haven't used a bunch of it yet. Maybe I should learn how to build chairs.

I like the boom Arm - but I actually like the little pig-tail that is on the vac the best as it keep the hose and cord right at the same level as my bench and MFT. I have the Boom on one of my vacs and the other one I just opted for the pig tail - more mobile and you do not need to break it down to move it.

Thanks for the response, I'll look into the pigtail thingy. Cheaper is always good too.
