Here is a video of this big bad-boy saw in action:

Very cool. I like the gear system that raises and lowers the blade. I'm surprised that skinny power cord is sufficient for that monster saw.
It looks like it is very manageable for it's huge size.

That is a beast of a saw for sure. It would scare me to push something like this along, at least at first. But cool nonetheless.

Does anyone know when these saws became compatible with the F-rails? An older 185 has come up for sale near me, if it works with the rails it has greater appeal...

Not sure when it become compatible. There is 2 grooves grooves on the Base plate one for 90 degree cuts and the other for beval cuts. Is it far from you to to go and have a look at

Its far enough that I wouldn't want to go to just kick tires... Plus, I'm not native to the country I'm in (Italy), so communication can be difficult.
Maybe the better question would be when were the rails introduced? I think the saw in question was made in 2002 (the ad shows a picture of the label).
I don't know the asking price yet, and to be honest I don't have an immediate need for the tool (though it would open up a lot of possibilities!). However, if it was a screaming deal, and worked with the rails, I might not be able to resist.

Get a picture sent to you of the bottom of the saw. That should help answer the question. Or see if there is a replacement base? Assuming Mafell can/would tell you...
