Hello all, Has anybody got any experience with the AD160 Planer-Thicknesser? How does it compare to others, enough power etc. I was thinking of buying one i saw cheap (don't have any space for it but hopefully i will someday) Thanks in advance.

No experience with them I think woodster use the same design as it. I'm not to sure if I would go for it. Are you wanting a way to face and edge your timber or just thickness it

I have one, bought two years ago from ebay, it serves well, already have proper planner/thicknesser SCM but still use Ad160 as support when piece of wood is to small for big machine. The AD 160 itself is well made ( as other Mafell tools) never had any issue, thanks to high rpm the surface is incredibly smooth no need to be sanded, is very portable easy to storage under bench, changing the blade is also piece of cake as knifes has the centering holes, blades are sharpened on both sides which also is a benefit. in my past had an cheap planner from screwfix but the problem was to find blades replacement and was to week when planed wide boards, blades are available from Miles tools and machinery center (look online). max depth of planning is 2mm for jointer and thicknesser. Generaly Mafell Ad 160 is good for all small scale work as its is made for. if you have any questions please let me know, will try to be helpful. here is my beauty
