First time poster here. Recently replaced my Festool 55REQ with an MT55 and couldn't be happier (well, maybe if it had a detachable power cord). In fact, I liked it so much that I also bought a P1CC. My problem is that that when I use the clamps to fasten Mafell rails to the stock I frequently find that the saw's vibration actually causes the clamps to come completely loose. This seems to happen more with the P1CC, perhaps because that saw generates more vibration. Obviously I've tried really cranking the handles tight but this hasn't eliminated the problem. Oddly, I've used Festool rails for years with their screw clamps and I don't think I've ever had the same thing happened even once. Anyone experienced this with Mafell clamps, and more to the point, anyone have a suggestion for how to prevent the clamps from coming loose?
Thanks

It's not often that I use my clamps but found them to be rather dinky, especially for the price. Also I've bent them by cranking on them too hard in the past (clamping a work piece to my workbench). I personally don't have a tried and tested alternative beyond my aerofix, which is amazing but pricey and also has it's limitations. I've heard of others modding festool and other rail clamps, oh and bosh in europe sells some quick clamps that are compatible that are probably much better. P.S. welcome aboard I'll see if I can find a link to those Bosch clamps for you

scroll down a touch on this page link and you'll see the quick clamps which also gives me an idea for a mod to existing quick clamps....

Thanks for the replies. The Bosch quick clamps seem like a good solution. I don't believe they are yet available so I'll look for a Euro source. I agree that the Aerofix is great too but its not very useful with narrow stock and I don't understand Mafell's decision to make only one rail that's 130cm, which is actually only useable to about 110 using the underside attachment and without joining rails.

Since the Bosch FSN KZW quick clamps aren't available in the US I checked a couple of Euro dealers to see if they would ship them but to no avail. Have you dealt with a dealer who is willing to ship internationally? If so I'd be grateful for the contact info.

I have the Mafell Rail Clamps and have never had that happen. Maybe you got a lemon. Just exchange them for a new set and see.
