Yeah, it takes some confidence in the product to demonstrate it in front of a camera with a dust bag instead of a vacuum attached.

yeah that was crazy cool how it just sucked up the dust without being hooked to a vacuum. I have been a bit surprised when using any of my mafell tools without a vac that almost all the dust still shoots out the exit port anyway because of the way they engineer them to work.
The sander also sounds very smooth and powerful.

I own the UVA 115E. It's a huge sander, and actually has some height too. When I first took it out of the box, I thought Christ, what am I going to do with that, or I've made a bad decision! But I shouldn't of been so sceptical. It's brilliant, fall stop. Two reasons why I chose this one. The Abranet sandpaper, and the video I watched of no dust when not connected to an extractor. This is a big sander, don't really want to be lugging a hose with it too. Also it has very low vibration, but the handle on the front, has a little bit more and could maybe do with a coating of external rubber. But boy it sands beautifully, with not much effort, and you can just sand, and get an almost dead flat surface. But I think the sandpaper has a lot to do with everything. In my experience, I've never used such a good paper. I'm looking at the Mafell catalogue now, does the UT150E come with or can you get the Abranet paper, I'm guessing it would be the same as on the original Mirka? But my paper catalogue does not show Abranet? My other half sheet sander is a Makita. Absolutely no comparison whatsoever. I'm sure the UT150E will be exactly the same, just does what it should do, and do it well and in a nice package.

Sorry error. It is indeed a new sander, was looking at my old paper catalogue... It looks very similar to the UT150E, just squinting at the pic, but with a different base. Can't find it online...

A few of us on the forum use the Mirka Abranet sand paper. It is very easy to get in North America & all over the internet. It sounded like you were asking about replacement disks. I can get both 5 or 6" (125 or 150mm) disks locally at several retailers.

7. Sorry thought the picture at the beginning of this thread was the old version, UT150E. As I'm so impressed with my UVA115E with the Abranet paper, I was considering purchasing the old UT150E, which does not come as standard with Abranet, but now with this new sander, I will wait for more information and availability, before another purchase.
I have just found out I can get the Abranet 150 diameter from the UK, do you know, do you need any special backing pad for other machines to use this paper, ie does it stick as good, without the Abranet backing pad, maybe for use on Fein multimaster
Thanks in advance.

Looks like they are using a backing pad with the abranet mesh in the video.

I've enquired about using abranet on my sander and have being told it can be used on any you just have to use the intermediate backing pad to stop premature wear in the sanding pad and can be used on any sander

I took some pictures of the back up pad that may or may not help, depends if the model numbers are the same across borders. Pic 1- you can see the back up pad peeled back. Pic 2- you can see the regular pad behind the back up pad because I didn't align the two perfectly. Pic 3- a 2 pack box of the back up pads in the 5" diameter. You would get the same just 6" (150)

Pic 1- back of the box- it should have the numbers you need, if they are the same in Italy that is. Pic 2- I found them a couple months ago in a 5 pack from a store about 10 minutes away for a better price...no fancy cardboard box though.

A couple pictures of sand paper storage. I like being able to see at a glance if I am almost out of a certain grit.
