It's too bad the KSS400 / 36V is so expensive. I'm sure it's a better saw and the addition of the crosscutting rail is a major plus, but at $1700+ for the saw and batteries in the neighborhood of $350... dang. It'll be interesting to see how Festool prices this one.

The dust bag is a reusable one haha I realized that…was just joking about the video since he was dropping the bags off while making the super long cut. It made it look like the bag gets full every 24 feet through 3/4 particle. It does look like a cool idea. I will also be curious to see the price just for curiosity's sake. I had no idea the KSS 400 battery version was so expensive. Thanks but no thanks, I would rather have your KSS80 Woodie.

Man Festool sure puts on a show don't they!? Ha! I can just see all the festoolers drooling. I love cordless anything but no thanks, the benefits here aren't worth the up- charge.

I'm often in fashion/clothing store installs. Cabinets, counters, etc. I don't want to generalize, there's always exceptions, but make my point, I kind of will. When I look around me, the vast majority bring a TS55 plunge saw, DeWalt or Makita miter saw and CT26 or Starmix vaccuum with them on the job. Often there's orther guys painting, or there's already clothes being deliverd and hanging in there and I see some faff around taping some plastic around the place or sometimes they're simply not the brightest crayons in the box and just let it spray wherever it wants to go. Sometimes it's quite amazing to see these guys work, really! In the past year I think I can still count the times I've seen a vac hooked up to a tool on my 2 hands. Most just hold their hand behind the dust port to let the sawdust fall down. There's just a general cleanup at the end of the dayand that's what they use their vac for I guess the hose is still too much of a hassle for many guys. Well that, or maybe I just end up on the wrong jobsites Anyway, this is why I believe the cordless TS55 might very well become a popular tool for Festool. At least around here as many don't seems to give a hoot about dust collection at the source anyway. Add the added convenience of no cord and I can imagine it'll make many guys happy as a clam. I think Festool has put down a very clever product here. They made a wise choice by not introducing yet another voltage & new batteries (36v). Keeps things simple and interchangable. Also the fact you can use the saw with either 1 or 2 batteries is smart. If they'd also made it possible to use the saw with a plug-it cord and maybe charge the batteries right on the tool they'd be geniuses.

Cordless is certainly getting better. Would rather have a KSS300 cordless then a 55.

Thumbs up on that! Had to make some rapid corner carcasses today and the 300 was the main tool used.

My attitude is it takes as long to drop a piece of rubbish on the floor as it does in the bin that is right next to where I am working. Yet others will just drop on the floor trip over it all day move the rubbish from side to side instead of just putting in the bin and be done with it. That still might be the case with attached bag. After the first bag is full not bother with next on or empty the dust bag as they can't be bothered and don't seem worried about there health. It does seem a loosing battle
