Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone have done cutting those redgum sleeper, for example, 200mm x 50mm. I have a cordless Mafell MT55
I tried but it stopped due to anti kick back system, and it didn't cut all the way. Is this machine not right tool or do I need to find a better saw, which I can swap it.
I would ask the same questions for Erika 85 as well. Both of them cannot handle those sleeper.
Thanks.

Maybe KSS80 ?.. the Erika should handle it though, MT55 is not the right tool for the job.

I tried redgum sleeper with Erika 85 but it can cut, and then the power went off automatically. I need to try it again later...as soon as I fix that clamping nut that Mafell provided for me.

The standard blade that came with Erika 85 when purchased.
Any recommendation on the right saw to cut tough timbers such as redgum, and I really want to cut it because I wanna build planter boxes for my shop.
I am form Australia if that help to find the right saw to buy.

At a minimum you should be using a ripping blade. We don't have Redgum here, but looking on google, it's very hard and kills blades. Maybe a chainsaw for getting to rough size, then a cheap rip blade for the Erika to final size.

Best approach would be multiple passes of increasing depth. Granted the MT55 is probably not the "right" saw for this but I don't really know of a 160mm saw that would be happy about it. Sounds like you'd need to do the same with the Erika.
If you're going to do this often then the recommendation to get a heftier blade is sound.
