It looks like they accelerated the price increase, rather than wait till March. I spot checked a few of the things I bought a couple of weeks ago. Everything now shows 4% higher.

Rod, What did shipping costs run for your setup? Jack (from EZ) $85 to California Thats the part I don't like. I've always thought the shipping was too high. Not sure how a business that's setup with UPS can get charged the same as someone walking into a UPS store with a single package. Either they are over charging or need to change how they ship.

The prices went up on Timberwolf's site...darn. Yesterday the P1Cc was 680 and today it is 707... Mafelltoolstore.com still shows the old price on the P1cc. Tools come from the sames source...

Rod, What did shipping costs run for your setup? Jack (from EZ) $85 to California Wow! When I originally looked at the P1cc a few years ago I remember being annoyed at having to pay $25 more for freight on a tool that was already more than double the cost of the Trion. In the end I bit the bullet anyway but it did deter me from buying for over a year. I guess I've just been spoiled by all the quality Festool dealers that provide free shipping...

I agree on the high price of the shipping but at this point what can one do? Lack of competition is never in a buyer's best interest. Going the Mafell route has some advantages to some great/unique products but one dealer in all of the U.S./N.America is not the type of monopoly I like to support. If the festool saw would have worked on the mafell rails I probably would have sacrificed my perceived advantages and purchased it. But in the long run I felt the mafell saw had more benefits and options available to it vs. the festool - even with the crazy high shipping....

A little bit off topic but slightly on the same Avenue. In the uk there is government debates going on to do with how some companies are ripping off people with excessive postage. In the uk if you send a parcel to anywhere it costs the same rate no matter the distance even if to the islands. Some companies charge extra for the remote areas to basically make extra money even though the cost us the same as sending 5mile down the road

As much as the price stings, if you're a professional then the tool should be generating revenue for you so it should be a non-issue.

Thanks for posting this, Woodie...yes...confirmed the pricing had not changed there...4% was not that much in the grand scheme of things and it seems like the value is there from those of you that have put these tools to use. Again, I have not issues paying top dollar for top quality tools at all, but if I can save a few bucks, then I will also do that.

The real hangup (for me) with Timberwolf is they don't offer a combined kit price, something their acquired company (Mafell Tools)used to do.

Now based on the comments that pricing is not going up 4% until Mar 1, I've got some thinking to do.

Hello Everyone. This is David Powell, President, at Timberwolf Tools.
A quick response to a few comments I just read about pricing:
1. Pricing is going up 4% on March 1, 2014. If this catches you off-guard and want to order something, just give us a call on Monday, March 3rd and we will honor 2013 prices one extra day. Our web Master jumped the gun and posted the price increases a few days early on www.timberwolftools.com However, we have been honoring 2013 prices all week. 2014 prices will be loaded this weekend at www.mafelltoolstore.com Just so you know, Mafell AG increased their prices on January 1, 2014 to us but we have put it off our price increase until March 1, 2014.....a month later than last year. We cannot afford to wait any longer.
2. Concerning shipping, I have read about some discontent with our shipping prices. We do not make any money on shipping, as we just try to barely cover our costs. The Internet shipping calculators are not perfectly precise (although they do a reasonably good job of calculating shipping costs) so feel free to give us a call any time and we will calculate the best shipping rate for you.
I respect everyone's opinion and I appreciate all of the interesting information that is shared on this Forum. Rest assured that we are doing the best possible job we can do to meet all of your needs -- delivering the tools you need quickly, reliably, cost effectively and in perfect condition when they arrive.
Unfortunately, we do not have enough time in our day to read all the comments on this Forum. There are many of you and only a few of us. Therefore, we will not be able to respond to all of your comments but we are only a phone call away at 800-869-4169 if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you for your interest in Mafell tools, and your business.
All the best, David Powell
