Must be Mafell raising the price. Or is it all of Timberwolf products?

Must be Mafell raising the price. Or is it all of Timberwolf products? The question I asked David was "Anything new with Mafell?", so I believe he was just referring to Mafell. Whether the increase is coming from Timberwolf or Mafell who knows.

I remember last year about this time when I was looking at getting the Erika getting told that mafell usually rise the prices a percentage or 2. Not that I've heard of anything so far. The only thing is to hope any stock bought before any increase will still be available at the old price. Also sometimes what doesn't help us in the uk and America can be exchange rates

Is there anything new coming from Mafell besides a price increase? I assume you would have mentioned if he told you about anything new for 2014.

Definitely would have shared that info with the group .

Glad I saw this thread...might have to jump in sooner rather than later to avoid the price increase...

I had seen the warning of a price increase coming- don't remember exactly where but It did make the decision to purchase the MT-55 easier last week.

Well they must be happy with where they are with sales. Quite gutsy to raise the prices when they are already so much more expensive than the competing brand of premium tools. I'm not saying they are not worth it, just that mafell is both brave and must really believe in their product to justify such an extreme cost. Especially with only the one supplier, a lot for a new tool buyer to swallow.

I don't think Mafell cares if the USA market exists or not. I'm not saying they won't offer great service just that they are focused mainly on the homeland. We aren't the bread and butter which is evident by the single dealer.
I'm fine with the High Prices. It keeps the interest of serious woodworkers and those who see value. If I want it and its pricey then I will just save.
Mafell's business model is different then other companies. Part of that model is not outsourcing which means high quality control in-house. That alone means higher prices.
