Of late I have started to get super wayward cuts. I can't seem to upload the small image file so will describe it as best I can: Guide-Rail, 18mm birch ply, 48tooth blade. The cut line gently curves in and out of the expected straight line by maybe 0.5 a mm. It seems to be fine for the first half (on a 1.6m guide) but as I get near the end I can feel the blade struggle a bit and that's when the bad stuff seems to happen. The tool has not had a whole lot of use ( several cuts on maybe 5 sheets of ply over the course of a year..). Any thoughts would be welcome. Chat

You'll have to use VGE.me or Imgur.com or something similar: the forum doesn't do images.
The obvious: is your rail clamped? And did you check the tightness of your blade screw?

Have you changed any adjustments on the saw? (toe in - toe out, etc.) Is the saw snugged up to the rail? How 'sharp' is the blade?.. (how much and what has it cut?)
Try : - removing blade, cleaning motor flange and blade, re-mount and tighten correctly - loosen the rail adjusters then re tighten until the saw glides smoothly but does not grab the rail when you lift the saw - clamp the rail, try a new cut making sure you are pushing along the rail and no introducing any twist
Let us know how you get on.

Could also be the material moving, as you cut it. Sheet goods can have a lot of internal stress, that gets released when you cut it. Which is why I never make a finished cut without breaking down sheets into smaller pieces.

I just experienced a wayward cut with my mt55. I was joining some 1.5" x 27" beech butcher block tops and the cuts were unacceptable. I thought the saw bevel was not a true 90° and when I loosened the bevel clamp knob to adjust it and discovered that the tension rod that tightens the back bevel clamp was broken. I never bevel anything so I have no idea how long it's been broke. I tightened the back bevel clamp with a hex key and proceeded to cut some air tight miters. I thought this might be worth checking if your saw is not cutting up to pay. I've been lurking on muf for quite a while but this prompted me to join. Hope this helps!

A belated reply from the original poster. I replaced the blade recently and that was the end of my issue. I did this from the same shop I purchased the Maffell; they inspected the original blade and using a straight edge figured it was very slightly warped. They also commented that birch ply will very quickly blunt/ gunk up these blades. Chat
