hey, I'd like to order a DD40p but I'd like to hear if anyone has had experience delivering to Canada. Were duties charged on delivery? When were taxes collected? The shipping quote from Timberwolf was frankly, ridiculous. $168 for the DD40 and the template plus some bits. I'd love to have one of these units but I'm not paying that.

I've never dealt with timberwolf personally. I got my gear through the old canadian distributor, landhaus. I knew duty would be retarded now. Trying to force Atlas to stock them.

Shipping is high. I live in Idaho so TimberWolf has to send across the USA and sometimes I cringe. I really think prices have increased for shipping and were really use to free from Amazon which skews our perspective.
Earlier this week I was looking at a Walko Workbench being sent to me from Arizona to Idaho which is like 800 miles and shipping was around $250!

Shipping is one thing, paying duty across the boarder is another.

Shipping does not have to be that high. Unfortunately some companies use shipping as another revenue stream. Timberwolf knows they have an exclusive on Mafell and can and will charge whatever they want. This could very well be the death of Mafell in North America. The Duo Doweller is their smallest item, imagine if I wanted some timber framing tools! Shipping from Timberwolf would probably be equal to the cost of the tool itself!
I just ordered and received a Pizzi glue pot from Rangate . It was shipped from California to Ontario Canada. Weight was approximately 20kgs. Way more than the DD40. Cost? Less than $90 shipping. Arrived in 3 business days. They also took care of all duties. Rangate basically ate the cost of the shipping to earn my current and repeat business.
I'd like to own a DD, a KSS300 and a sander (if timberwolf decides to stock them) but unless Timberwolf gets their shipping under control I won't be getting any of those tools. I'm sure I'm not the only one either.

Its really a shame you no longer have a Dealer for Canada. Seems like each country should have at least one Dealer.
I know how important a dealer is to the success of a product. Hopefully something will bring a balance for the Canadian customer.
