I need a larger 2" + hose (50mm) or so for a demo job, and I am wondering if there's an upside for anti-static hoses that make them worth the extra cost.
I find my smaller non-anti-static hose will collect friends along the way and drop them; do non-antistatic hoses have this propensity? I don't use my smaller Mafell anti-static hose that came with the vacuum much, it's undersized for almost all uses I have for the thing.
I'd like it to be longish, (no less than 3m, perhaps longer if they're useful?).
I've found a few places that sell bulk reel hose without ends; I have been using fernco rubber collars to mate hoes to the cyclone separator / tools and actually prefer that quite a bit, as it guarantees it fits, unlike trying to rely on whatever bass-ackwards connector that came with the thing.

For sanding or the finish phase of work I prefer my anti-stat hoses. But weather, material collected, job site conditions affect how necessary they really are. When I’m working in studios around equipment I only use my anti-stat set up. The rest of the time I’m using large diameter non anti-static hoses for bulk cleanup.

Also, I just found Centec's 30' antistatic hoses. kraftt , I know you don't like blue (their most common offering from what it appears), but do you have any experience with them? Their hoses seem to be almost the same, but a lot less cost.

I never followed through on any Cen-Tec purchase (yet). Looks the same quality as the euro stuff, and if it’s anti-static what more could you ask for. I think suppleness is the deciding factor for most though.
I didn’t know they made a 30 footer in blue, was only aware of the black 2” anti-stat. Tried to take a look at the blue just now and only see a 16’ smaller diameter version. I like that it says it tapers from 1-½” to 1-¼”, I think that would help. Also see anti-stat cuffs for 2” & 1-½” but can’t tell if they are hard plastic or malleable rubber.

I didn't either; I literally just found it today as I checked them again as I've been sitting on the fence about their hoses. Kind of wonder if they're made by the same factory as the Euro hoses. I saw somewhere that their antistat hoses are made in Belgum; veracity of that statement is hearsay at best, but it's a step towards the right direction.
Forgot to link the 30' earlier; for whatever reason they only show it under their "kits" section. It's also on Amazon, reviews seem to be positive, mostly.

I’m wondering if 30’ is too much of a good thing. The deal is good - buck fifity for that length and all those tool adapters… I find I get by with a 13’ tapered hose fine but think the sweet spot would be around 15’. If you do get their 30 footer you could always cut it to 20’ and have a coupling on hand to join left over extension when wanted. Otherwise 30’ seems a handful (?). Might depend somewhat on where the tapering transitions to a uniform 1-¼” for the remaining footage (if their 30' or that deal is also their tapered hose). *edit - but if the hose is 1-¼" full length then it sorta seems small for being that long. I may remember why I passed on the Cen-Tec tool adapters back then… I seem to recall a conversation where they told me the adapters were not anti-static ?? So maybe the hose is Belgium or where ever because of patented process or speciality mfg. and their adapters are sourced from China. This probably doesn’t really matter much because the hose 'has to' have its own factory proprietary vac end which must be anti-stat and the tool adapters wouldn’t matter as much being at the front end.

Same on the length. I think I'll get the 16' and if it's not enough, get their 2" 50' hose and an antistatic connector.

( That tapered non anti-stat hose I have is actually 15 feet / 4.5m long…. got mixed up with the stock Nilfisk hoses / non tapered / anti-static that come approx. 13.5’ / 4m. Fwiw - When I went to buy the Nilfisk hose, #107413543, some online sites erroneously listed it at 16'. )
