I am considering buying a Mafell jigsaw if I can use it to cut 8/4 ipe lumber. Which blade would work best for cutting ipe? Ipe is a very hard and dense wood and was wondering if I could use the P1 on ipe and recommended blades/settings? Thanks!

Ipe lumber, I believe is identical to Teak wood in most parameters. P1CC can cut 100mm with it's Mafell blade, but it makes no sense to do so on 8/4 ~ 190mm x 95mm material, as it will deflect somewhat and in a long run doing cuts as described simply too much of an effort on both user and the tool, not designed for such task. If you do have a workshop there are very reasonably performing and priced accordingly stationary scroll- band- saws. If need to use on-site there's appropriate Mafell ZE5c saw. Hope helps

Out of interest, what sort of cuts will you be doing?.. curved?.. cut outs?.. mortices?
I don't know what 8/4 lumber is - Google says it would be it would be 1.75" planed or 44mm?.. in which case the P1CC would be fine.

Quarters = ¼ 'inches'. Rough sawn hardwoods graduate in mill thicknesses in approximate quarters. 4/4 - approx 1″ thick (25mm) 5/4 - approx 1-1/4″ thick (32mm) 6/4 - approx 1-1/2″ thick (38mm) 8/4 - approx 2″ thick (50mm) 12/4 - approx 3″ thick (76mm)
If surfaced both sides then subtract about 4.7mm from above.
