Hi. I hope someone can help. My AD160 planer thicknesser has been going strong for about 20 years but a bearing has blown on the motor. I've managed to get the motor apart but I can't get the 'thing' that the belt sits on off the drive shaft, and that is in the way of the knackered bearing.
Can anyone give me any clues as to how I can get at that bearing please? I have tried, and failed, to add a picture. Trust me, I am better with my hands than with computers...

Is there a small locking grub screw on the pulley wheel right down near the axle hub? Or maybe a Woodruff key in the axle slot?

Assuming you have a pulley on the shaft, as huntsgemein wrote, you may have a set screw or a shear key. Look at the end of the shaft. Is there a flat spot on the shaft? If so, look for a set screw. If there is a notch in the shaft and the pulley, you should see a piece that is filling that void. This is the key.
Regardless of method of attachment, you may need to get a pulley puller. Likely you will need one in order to drift the pulley off the shaft.
