I don't have a mafell rail. Have two 1400 festool l rails and one 1400 cut into a 800mm and 600mm. Do yo know if the glider is available to buy on its own and how much it costs? Can't justify buying a mafell rail.

I don't know how much but could find out. I'm going to be in touch with Nathan this week. Can't remember if you need glider for the festool tracks. It's only really needed when using on mafell style tracks. So might not be nessary

That would be great if you can find out. Even better if not needed with the festool tracks. Will have to check out some videos on youtube or the fog to see if its needed or not.

I think with Festool you ride the edge of the saw up against the rail, so do not think the glider is needed.

I had a chance to play around with my P1CC today and it is an impressive saw for sure. Had good success ripping and cross-cutting all types of wood. Tried various Bosch and Festool branded blades I had laying around. Fit and finish of the machine is superb in all aspects.
Quick question -- does anyone use the screw clamps with the rail? Should have ordered some as my Festool versions will not fit -- I thought that they would be similar. Anyone know of cheaper alternatives?
Thanks

Anyone know of cheaper alternatives? Thanks No cheaper alternative that I'm aware of. I'm hoping these become available to the US market at some point... Looks like they're priced similarly to the Mafell screw clamps.

I agree Woodie - It would be nice to have those Bosch clamps and many of the other Bosch products sold in the U.K./Europe for our track system.

Ordered some clamps today...
Yes, those quick clamps look nice. I also debated grinding down some of my other clamps but not sure it would work. The DeWalt versions are thinner than Festool, but not sure if they would work either.

The mafell screw clamps aren't the greatest. The aerofix however is pretty darn sweet. Doesn't work for every application, but I usually turn to it first.

I spoke to Nathan today about the glider the price is £9.53+ vat and delivery, but like I say it's only really needed if using the mafell guide rails

I spoke to Nathan today about the glider the price is £9.53+ vat and delivery, but like I say it's only really needed if using the mafell guide rails Thank you Aaron. That is expensive for a bit of plastic lol. I have no mafell track so don't need this. If I can get hold of a mafell/ bosch track second hand at a good price then maybe will get it. I played about with the p1cc today. My trion I like and had no real issues with. The p1cc has definitely got more power, which I like. Only tested it on laminate flooring piece. I used a bosch bit. It came out of the clamp twice while cutting. Then while in use it snapped. Put another bosch bit in and checked that blade was locked properly. I noticed that the clamp lever does not close automatically like on the trion which is spring loaded. You have to press it untill it snaps in. This is no problem once I am more acquainted with the p1cc. Done straight an curved cuts all good. Don't have a splinter guard yet. The cuts were as good as the cuts with the trion. Used the pivot pin in the side fence to cut a circle from the edge of the board. Could not get the saw to cut more than the width of the blade. I gave up, did not want to break another bit. It was probably my technique. Tried the pivot pin in the base of the jigsaw and cut a small circle with no problem. Was impressed. Used the parallel guide and its so easy cutting straight to the edge. Tried cutting with the blade inserted backwards, worked like a charm. Then tried inserting the blade backwards in my trion. Clamped with no problems, so I presume it could be used in the same way too but I didn't try. So far I am happy I bought this without any regrets especially as the trion had never let me down. It is a great jigsaw. I have used the carvex and found the new features on it compared to the trion really good. I liked having the switch on both sides. The light with its strobe and full on or off ability is great. The pivoting cord connector is cool too. Some nice features on the carvex but my trion cut just as good if not better than it. The p1cc is a level above the festools. A light would have been nice. Plus some of the base options of the carvex would be nice maybe. Taz.

Wrightwoodwork, that is indeed expensive for such a simple piece. Taz, glad to hear you like what you see I have to say though, I'm a bit amazed to read so many posts of people that choose to put the P1cc through it's paces with generic blades. I understand that's what you have lying around, but still, Mafell must have had a good reason to design their their own special blades & not just because. Seems a bit like driving a racecar with the brakes of a regular car. (I know, bad analogy, can't come up with a better one )

Jonathon, I only have bosch blades and a few specialist blades from others. I get along fine with these bosch ones and I have quite a few so it will be a while if I do get the new mafell ones to try.
Its true to get the max benefit of the p1cc the mafell double blade should be used. The p1cc works better than other jisaws with normal blades so unless you are cutting thick timber its not necessary. Cost of buying stuff is always a consideration and I would probably never bought my dd40g or the p1cc had I not got the great deals I managed to get plus selling off the tools they replaced.
