Hi gang!!
I'm in the process up updating my dust extraction system, and have decided it's time to retire my old Festool 36mm 3.5m hose to the work shop, and am now seeking a new hose to ride around with me in the Sprinter.
Since I frequently use my 36mm hose for job-site cleanup (frequently chunks of plaster and concrete), it's my preference to have a hose that does not taper to a rubber cone at the tool-end of they hose (for instance, the Mafell and Bosch hoses).
Tools I'll be connecting to a 35/36mm hose include:
-- Erika 70
-- Angle grinder with cup wheel (concrete)
-- Angle grinder with cutting shroud (concrete, plaster, drywall)
-- Larger routers
-- TE-1000 with DRS chipping/breaking shroud
-- General job site clean up
Selection Criteria:
-- Maximum diameter at tool-end of hose
-- Nozzle/tool-end of hose should be compatible with standard Euro-style tools, such as Mafell, Hilti, Metabo, Festool, etc....
-- Anti-static
-- Bonus points for flexibility
The Contenders:
- Festool 5m 36mm hose. I'm not completely sold on the sleeve material and the new hose ends, but it certainly fits my criteria of full-diameter rubber hose end, it's readily available, and parts (hose ends) are easy to get. I do like how Festool hoses have rotation/swivel fittings at both ends of the hose.

- Makita P-79865 hose. I'm pretty sure this is the same hose that ships with the Makita extractor. The Amazon info lists it as a 1-3/8"x16' hose, but my suspicion is that it's a metric 36mm x 5m hose. The price is great, but I'm curious as to how flexible it is, and would want to confirm that the hose end is in fact the Euro-standard rubber end like the Festool hose.

- Hilti hose. This is another 36mm x 5m hose. The tool-end of the hose is a rigid plastic nozzle, which I'm not particularly excited about, but it's sized to work with the Euro-tools (Hilti, Metabo, Mafell, Festool, etc....), so it should work for the applications I'd want to use a mid-sized hose on.

- Mafell LW-35 hose. It's in the running, but I don't like that it only rotates at the tool end, and I'd want to replace the stock nozzle with a Festool or Hilti end. On the bright side, it would positively lock into my S-35M

Anyways, I'm curious to hear what you're using and have found to work well! Also, I received my new Mafell S-35M vacuum today, so I'm looking forward to comparing it in side-by-side testing with my Nilfisk Attix 33/44. My long term intention is to use the Mafell S-35M as a ride-around vac that lives in the van, while I intend to use the "44" tub on my Attix and use it in my shop. If/when I ever find time in between projects I'll post up some pics and thoughts
