I now know the reasons for the kss style saws. I see one of those the future as well.
However, in the videos and in lots of threads, fellas talk about using it off the tracks. Can this damage the saw to where it wont be usable on the tracks.
I apologize for all the stupid questions, im just curious.

Nope - it is designed to be used on and off the track.

What they said. The KSS saws work fine off the rail. Track saws like the MT-55 and the TS55 do NOT work well off the rail.
