this discussion should probably be moved to a thread titled ‘levels’ or something. ( I thought the Cordinat was interesting - www.sola.at/en-us/products/cordinat-p3589 Makes me want to affix a self adhesive tape to one side of my levels. )

Good to know, thank you. I think it gives them character. (been using the snot out of it today because the Paslode framer is a p.o.s. - definitely selling it now) I sold mine before I got mad enough to throw it. My 1st gen dewalt battery framer may not drive a 16 home, but at least it drives them.

Now if they can just make their extrusions as strong as BMI..... I've used Sola's Cordinat myself for about 10 years or so. A good idea, quite useful for centering runs of switches, wall luminaires, exposed cable conduits & even works of art on walls etc, but overall an extremely lightweight, insubstantial & extremely easily damaged &/or bent product that really needs to be "babied" in a way that normal, more robust levels shouldn't.

wonder if level accuracy, past a certain point, becomes a diminishing return game. i.e. not much of what we place/rest the level on is perfectly flat / smooth. And any line you scribe isn’t necessarily following the top edge perfectly either because of the angle change as you drag pencil along etc. -------------------------------------- (edit)- I like the way the Hublaflort 5000 attaches to the extension rails and it made me realize that I can convert any one of my longer spirt levels to digital instead of having to hold my current digital in place against it. The same way I converted one of my longer spirt levels to be magnetic, by sticking high gauss neodymiums inside, also lends itself to attaching a generic magnetic angle finder. (which can be used for other tasks when not stuck to level). You could even throw one, like the digital level bottom left, into rail pouch and find a way to attach it to a mafell rail connector.

We reached critical mass with the German and Austrian manufactured offerings. You could pour more money into Starret and Crick levels and probably get back less performance. I put those in the same category as Sands Level: the category of "no". :0
Hultafors isn't directly sold to the US. You can buy their axes from a Husqavarna dealer and the rest is grey market.
