I got a used erika 85 recently and have a few questions for more experienced users.
1) I have an urge to 'accesorize' it. How useful is the sliding table? What do you use it for? The only thing I can imagine it would be great for is non-through cuts to precise depth. Since the height adjustment doesn't lock (seriously?) it can shift when using the pull handle. But honestly, the price is way too steep if that's the only use. I could get a couple of routers and a few bits for the height-sensitive cuts.
2) How do you fit a zero clearance insert for cuts that can't have any tearout? The design of the table and the slot seems to make it almost impossible? Any tips or tricks? I'd put a 6mm plywood sheet over the whole table, but that would effectively render my fence useless ...
3) The red button on my pull handle doesn't do anything. I think it's supposed to unlock the pulling action and has to be pressed before each pull, right? My saw can be pulled without ever pressing it, seems like the previous owner was annoyed with it and somehow disabled the lock. Anyone can share some info on how to fix it back? What exactly does the button do mechanically and how do I find out what part is missing/removed?

I'd say the sliding table isn't a must have unless you regularly make cuts that require it, such as cross cuts (within capacity) beveled cross cuts, repeat angle cuts and the like.
There is no zero clearance for the Erika, however elsewhere on this forum someone posted a lik to a fastcap tape product for just this purpose.
Re the red button. on the mafell site there is a section to order any missing parts as well as exploded views of their products so you can order the right doo-dad
