hi every one just a quick question why is the blade that comes with the Mafell plunge saw 162mm? I was thinking of purchasing the Mafell 56t blade because it causes less splinter but that is 160mm for some reason . Also will the debt gauge be knocked out 2mm? And the anti splinter function will that still work?

You can actually "re-zero" the blade with the set screw on top of the depth lock mechanism. It's there specifically for the purpose of accommodating slight differences in blade diameter. Everything will work peachy once it's all tuned.

Hello ghost Thanks , if I adjust the debth setting will that also calibrate the score function ?
Also I was thinking of cutting my rails down or buying some more any advice on handy sizes , I cut a lot of work tops 900 and 600 and end panels which are usually 900x650
What's a safe over hang ?

Adjusting with that set screw will also adjust the scoring feature

Allow about 30cm overhang for the MT55 - it depends on the thickness you are cutting as to how much overhang is required - check before cutting your rails by looking where the friction adjusters on the MT55 base are, and check the blade is clearing your stock. I've cut a couple of rails down - the Aerofix and a Bosch RA32-1600. For 900 panels, you would want a rail of about 1200. For 650 worktops, you would want a rail of about 1000 (as worktops are thicker), which is a nice manageable length. Have a look in the rails section... give you some ideas.

Mafell also sell an 800 I wonder what that would be useful for Is the Bosch fsn rail exactly same as the Mafell rails ? I required another 1.6 but the Mafell are very expensive so must be some other difference between the two

The difference is the colour.
