I am trying to convert a UK 110V plug on my MT55C to a US 3 pronged plug.
Is there anywhere that sells pre-made leads for this? Or will I need to buy a female 110V UK plug + cable + a US 3 pronged plug?
What gauge cable does Mafell use? 12 gauge?

Finally got around to showing it on video but I had to cut it short because the storage on my Phone seems to be full. Not the best of videos, but maybe it can help some people out.

Strip approximately the last 2.5" of the outer insulation to reveal the 2 wires inside. Strip 1/4" off the ends of both wires. Srew them in to the trigger as shown above, done.
Should maybe take you 10 minutes to do the modification.

You can just buy the plug itself made to attach to any cable. Simple matter of snipping off the end of your current lead and reattaching the new plug. Available at any hardware store here really

wow, 110v 60hz uk to 120v 50hz U.S. I originally was thinking of purchasing my mt55cc package from overseas, but a great vendor from the UK pointed out that I might need to consult with a technician about compatability issues. I started learning more and more about the difference in HZ and it turns out that the machine would not work properly and might even short out. Thus having no choice I had to purchase my mt55cc from the ONLY vendor in the US, and we all know who that is.

As I understand most, if not all mafell machines have "universal" motors, that account for the hz difference. Mafell from timberwolf are European versions. The market in the us isn't large enough for them to make dedicated machines for here (speculation).

I do not think that universal motors are impacted with the HZ difference. Its the larger induction motors where it can be an issue.

Personally, my own life has always been a bit messy. Long live chaos! Disorder rules O.K.?
Maybe that's why I'm so over all those Festo products I used to own: too much order, too much neatness. Too much obsessive-compulsive, anal-retentive fussiness about those neat, colour-coded stacks of Sys-boxes & their grotesquely expensive contents.
I must admit, however, that its an effective transport, protection and systematisation medium, but it also makes one's tool collection just too flamin' attractive & convenient for thieves & burglars too: just a quick glance through a window at night-time with a torch and before you know it it's whisked away. I lost $36k of tools last November from my shack & shed. An easy night's work for an enterprising couple of miscreants equipped with a van or ute, and a lifetime's careful and thoughtfully assembled tool collection is gone forever.
I'm all but convinced that if they weren't carefully arranged in such easily transported boxes they'd still be sitting there!

The chaos is a direct result of having too much spaghetti on my plate with all you people posting all the time! It's all good I'm just buried with it and my real work. If the Ghost is silent, it's not because I'm ghosting you, it's coz I'm busy. Keep on MUF-in'!
