I've recently taken the plunge in to the world of Mafell and have been thoroughly enjoying it! I've now got an MT55, DD40 and KSS40 in my toolbox. As part of this conversion process to Mafell tools I've taken on Randal's (holmz) advice and have installed Neutrik's PowerCon True1 connectors on the MT55, DD40 and also the Lamello Zeta P2. I've also made a short cable with a Festool plug-it on one end and a Neutrik connector on the other for use with tools like the Domino. I am really digging the Neutrik connectors - as I have a homemade swiveling boom arm over my workbench, having a detachable power cord is a must for my work-flow. I highly recommend the Neutrik Powercon True1 system!

I'd like to do this, but I'm worried about the connectors snagging on guide rails, jigs, clamps, workpiece, etc. It's not a problem?

I just wrap the hose and the cord around my arm like May West. Of course it is a hose and not a boa... and I have overalls on and boots, and a grey beard... And ear muffs instead of ear rings.

For those that have used both the festool plug it and neutrik is there aspects that make the neutrik a better choice? I've converted my dd40 and p2 to plug it, but I am curious about neutrik. Thanks guys

They're chalk-n-cheese. The plug it are proprietary, plastic, with a insecure feel, and probably not hot pluggable. The neutrix are made for this and not proprietary in the same sense. They are made to be used for any peice of gear.
If you have 2 Mafell'a and 10 Festools then going to the plugit makes sense.

I believe the neutral are water resistant at the connection as well but double check before you take the GhostFists midnight ramblings as fact. I have not made this conversation on any of my tools yet

wow great info guys, thank you. These will certainly be something to keep in mind as I add more tools to the shop, as they do appear to be superior to plug-it cables!
