I need to replace my dust extractor that was nicked. An old 36 litre Festo SR5E. It was also marketed in a number of different guises as a Wap, Stihl & other branding too. Whilst nothing special in the overall scheme of things, one particular aspect I liked was that I'd had a longlife, reuseable "filter" which is actually a washable, shakeable needled felt dust barrier suspended over the dust barrel that completely eliminates any need to use bags, and helps keep the cylindrical pleated filter clean.
Unfortunately, this particular family was discontinued about 20 or more years ago.
I know that Festo do some grotesquely expensive longlife bags for some of their vacs too. At some $375 ea. (I kid you not!) for the 36l bag they're just too unconscionably expensive. Does anybody else make/manufacture/market a decent quality auto on/off dust extractor with longlife filters & /or bags?

Get a Starmix iPulse or any of the rebrands like Spit, Metabo, Mafell, Hitachi, ... This vacuum has the best auto filter cleaning system on the market today. I'm not a believer of long life dust bags like Festool or Bosch uses as they end up clogging and performance drops. Simply use a Starmix with open liner bags or no bags at all.
