Have heard that Mafell drill HB 1 DE has gone out of production.
Are there any of you who know anything about this?
HB 1 E would be a Krell 1050 HTC, but it has also gone out of production.
Krell has so made a sequel, namely Krell 1200 HTC, is there anyone who knows about it?

Do you mean Kress? I thought Krell made sound systems.

I assume this or the Bosch or the A18M is the beast for a drill station? ( with a 43-mm sleeve).
Hence I am interested.

I got a Kress that says 850-SB2. Cheap enough from Amazon.de and gives me a reason to need a BST drill station with it having a 43-mm collar. I want the BST , but I do not need it at the moment.

@ghostfist timber work. But nothing really but ideas... Hence I do not NEED one. I am planning on a scale model, but the designer seems to be going slow.
I often need to make a hole that is normal to the surface, so it is either a drill press or a BST. In the mean time I just eyeball it, which does not ensure normality.
Does it sound like a flawed idea to use a BST?
I picked up some small wood-rat router bits to try and make a scaled down version of Linga-tool for doing the scale model joints.

Have you already received the Kress?.. what's it like? I need a decent 43mm collar non-percussion drill, ideally 2 speed - more if possible.

A removable handle on the 43-mm sleeve. A 1 and a 2 for high and low speed. A hammer and no hammer. basically it was the cheapest 230v drill I could find with a collar, even with the shipping! (So saves coins for the BST) but it works as a drill should. I see I left a big countersink in the chuck. it is not as small as an A10M, nor as elegant, but I got it for lot of larger holes at the end of an extension cord.

Kress have a good reputation for CNC milling spindles, I don't know much about them otherwise.
