Anyone know if you can get a joiner for connecting two 36mm extractor hoses? (To join them together, to make one long hose)
Thanks, Lincoln.

Hi Lincoln! This has been covered a few times on the Green forum, but here are a few options:
1. Replace tapered 36mm (tool) end with a 50mm (vac) end, then use a standard 50mm cuff to join the hoses.
2. Buy a longer hose. I don't say this in a snarky way, rather to say that, if you are regularly needing a long length of 36 mm hose, you may be better off just buying the appropriate length. This way, you won't incur all the turbulence associated with joining hoses, plus the cost can add up quick if you're buying a bunch of anti-static parts. In North America, Festool sells a ~25' length of 36mm AS hose.
3. If you are using a Starmix vac, I have found that placing the 36mm (tool) end of the hose into the vac actually makes a nice, tight seal. So, you could place the tool end of a 36mm hose in your vac, use a hose cuff to connect the two 50mm ends, then you'd still have a 36mm tool end for your device.
4. Festool makes a cone-shaped adapter (I own it) that I think could be somehow used, but I never figured out an efficient method for using it.
I hope one of these ideas helps??

Nice one, thanks Tom. Usually I would buy a long hose, but would have no use for my two 3.5m lengths. I want to leave one length suspended above my workbench, and be able to plug into it with the other hose when working at the bench. I only have two because I bought one last xmas to use with my Midi, then sold the Midi but kept the 36mm hose. When I bought my Mafell vac, it came with two hoses - one AS 27mm, and one standard 36mm. Sounds like a quick connect/disconnect might not be possible. Maybe I'll sell one 36mm hose, and buy a longer length, to leave at my bench permanently.

Excellent, thanks Jonathan. I spoke to a friend who works at a tool shop, last night, and he has ordered me that sleeve you use in the video. Apparently it comes with adapters for joining 27, 36 or 50mm hoses. Will wait until I have it, before deciding if I need to buy any other fittings.
