In the UK, we love a good walk and manufacturers seem to want to encourage our national pastime by making us walk to and from our extractors. Lets have some remotes shall we?
The most common (only?) in the UK are Festool remotes which require a Bluetooth enabled vac to function, so you're tied to Festool.
I'm using a cheap Amazon remote with mine.
Hats off to Milwaukee who finally have brought out a 240V UK plug remote.
I regularly nag Metabo via Facebook to produce a UK version of their Cordless Control remote which works off a manual button OR a vibration detector so you can use it with cordless tools. Ideal, but they say the market is too small to produce!?
Has anyone got any clever ideas they could share?

for one 230V power supply on UK sites is almost illegal (You can not use no extension cables and have to have plugged in to direct trip-switch in existing and tested power supply socket...) hence, all UK sites are meant to supply 110V power, but... people are way over-excited with cordless tools, that hardly makes sense, due to additional weight and costs of batteries surpassing the costs of the tools.
IMO it's too early for that sort of approach and personally use most of the corded tools with auto-take-off funcion (NilFisk 110V)... also there's Makita one with Bluetooth, but is as unsuitable with other tools and temperamental as anything, that's bit of a waste of time anyways.
Then there's massive "great idea" of dust extractors classifications, when most of the tools manage 80% dust collection at most and needing to be 1200W at least makes questionable if anyone is using their brains (money (amount of batteries)) to get such results.

Shame you can't get the Metabo remote, I have a Starmix branded one and it's brilliant. I also have a Festool bluetooth enabled vac and button, would not want to be without remotes now...

Are you in Australia aas?
For me, the appeal of the Metabo/Starmix remote is that it works regardless of what you use it with, be it corded or cordless. Which is all I really want. I'd have thought they would sell like cakes that are hot in the UK.

I'm in France, but I tend to buy in from Germany. We don't use the same plugs in France (France ignores European standards for lots of annoying things like this) so I but in Germn Schuko plugs, extensions etc. Is cheaper than France anyway and gives compatible leads for all these sorts of adapters.
You could always get a EU model and a 3600w UK to EU adapter, plug in the Metabo, then an EU to UK adapter... clunky but it will work... stick it in a systainer over the vac with the vac tools, you'll forget it's there.
