Hi, does anyone have a fairly recent 27 mm Mafell hose? In the picture it looks like the soft cone has changed. As I'm not happy with the change Festool has made when switching from the very good connector to a bayonet style solution, I'm looking for alternatives. It looks like Mirka is the closest to what I'm looking for. It also looks like Mafell has changed the tool side connector to the one I'm looking for (see the picture of the 27 mm hose). However, it seems the picture is the same as for the 35 mm hose. In pictures of the dust extractor one can see the "old" style soft cone. Like the one from S 25 M (https://produkte.mafell.de/en/special-mach./dust-extractor-m/dust-extractor-s-25-m, in case the link to the picture does not funktion as expected) This soft cone is smooth on the inside and a little larger in diameter than Festool. That is, it does not hold on Mirkas sanders, it sits very loose and comes off easily.

Definitely looks different in the photo, I do not have one though, and unlikely to buy. I have given up on the bayonnet vac end fitting and switched all my Starmix ? Mafell hoses to Festool ends, they fit directly into the Starmix vacs and play better with the Festool CT-VA separator.

I did the same but I'm a bit confused. I was referring to the tool side end. Anyways, I ordered the Mirka branded one and its what I was looking for. The construction is a bit simpler than Festools, only two parts. It swivels not as smooth but I think its negligible since the tool side end on the 27 mm Mafell hose is similar and I'm used to that.

I have looked up the 'new' hoses that have a 'soft cone', come up with a couple of part numbers. For 27mm hose : 093688 For 35mm hose : 093690 ... no decent pictures coming up though. Around 35 / 40 € !

Since the pictures of the 27 and 35 mm anti static hose are the same, I expect these do not show the actual soft cone. Most likely it is the one of the Vac brochure.
By the way: I dry lubed the end a little with carbon spray and it swivels as light as nothing.

So this link : produkte.mafell.de/en/accessories/extraction-hose-4-m-13.1-ft.-oe-27-mm-1-1/16-in.-with-soft-cone-35-mm-1-3/8-in.-torsion-joint-oe-66-mm-2-5/8-in.-bayonet-anti-static- seems to show a new hose end or 'soft cone', but Mafell have confirmed there is no new soft cone, the part numbers I posted above are the same part they have been supplying forever. Any appearance that the soft cone on the link above is not the case. As an asides, I too have been looking for a replacement to the original Festool cones, I might have a look at the Mirka one you speak about. I did notice though when ordering in a Shaper Origin to have a play with, that they offer a vacuum hose that really looks like the new style Festool braided hose (of course Shaper is owned by TTS now) but in grey and black instead of the Festool green and black - the point is, the soft cone looks like the old style Festool before they went to the bayonnet fitting. There is a back order on the hose, it will be coming in February. I will update once I have it my hands...
