I've been doing a shower with one wall covered in 2mm flexible stone - this is fibreglass backed, waterproof, can be used inside/outside, on curved surfaces etc., but it's real stone. I needed to cut out some pretty tight circles for the shower control, hose outlet point, also the ventilation at the top of the wall. It was cheaper to buy a mini grinder than all the right sized diamond drills I needed.
Picked up the CC 12 BL mini grinder and a Bosch 76mm diamond disc. I got the 12v as for me, the point of a small tool is that it's light, didn't want a big 18v battery on there. It's very light and easy to use with one hand, even in awkward positions, also very balanced with the tiny 12v batteries - not sure it would be good in the 18v version. It spins at around 20000, very smooth motor, quiet too.
I've also been doing a couple of wall to ceiling wall panels in stone, used this for cutting out for the power points in one of them. A useful addition to the tool box.
