KSS80 looks nice - also the HK85 from Festool - I wouldn't say no to either! I have the KSS80 and like it very much. It’s a gentle beast, not too heavy and very powerful.

My KSS40 has gone to a fellow Mafell user, for spare parts. Such a great tool, but looks like I just ended up with a lemon. Replaced it with a Festool HKC55, as this experience has put me off importing, for now.

How are you getting on with the HKC?

How are you getting on with the HKC? So far, so good. Haven't really pushed it much, though. For once I got a pretty good deal on a Festool item - the part number had changed due to the new systainers, so it was sold to me as 'old stock'. They also threw in a 450mm crosscut rail for free, as the sales rep had given them one. I added a 250mm rail + bag a few days later.

I have gone the same route: HKC 55 replaced the KSS40, not entirely without regrets.
John: make sure you check out the new blades for the HKC (shares blades with the new Festool track saw) and I bought a few. Have only used the new "standard blade" as of yet but it cuts nicely.

Thanks everyone. Not planning to add another saw anytime soon. If the HKC worked on the Mafell rails or the kss40 was compatible with FT rails I would have purchased one when it was released. As it is I’ll wait until I have a need.
