Awesome! Woodwright -- did you take any pics? Would love to see them if you did.
I really do like this site -- appreciate you guys for creating it! I am getting on the band wagon and would really like to invest in some Mafell -- The way I see it there are a few core tools that would really enhance or expand my collection. Just trying to decide what makes the most sense for some upcoming projects.

I build mostly furniture and getting ready to build a Maloof inspired dining table and 6 low-back dining chairs. Lots of curves and angles in the piece and while a bandsaw is good for lots of the cuts, I think that a jigsaw could do well in lots of cuts as well and with as straight and clean as these cuts are, it seems like a worthy investment. I have the smaller Domino that will likely work for the chair seat, but I was thinking the larger machine or the DD40 would be great for the table and larger pieces. I have a bed and dresser project coming up after the dining table and chairs. Oh and I am in the middle of a bathroom remodel too -- just have the vanity left, mirror frames and medicine cabinet to complete.

I know sam (rip) used his bandsaw in some crazy ways and I immediately thought of him when i got my p1cc. he was pretty fast on cutting out those curves though.....

Oh yeah...amazing and super gracious guy. I had the opportunity to meet him in person and talk to him...always willing to answer questions and provide commentary and insight. There are some videos of him walking through the process of building a chair pretty much step-by-step at a seminar. Some of the compound curves he cuts are dangerous on the bandsaw but I think the jigsaw would allow for some of it.
I am really liking that Bosch blades are used with no issues too -- they are readily available and pretty reasonable in cost too!

I think I would go for the p1cc and the dd40. If doing lots of doors or similar then the domino , but if you have a more varied working projects then I think the dd40 covers more bases

I think that 16mm dowels would be pretty darn strong for larger work.

It looks like a jigsaw but doesn't perform like a jigsaw should so it can't be a jigsaw it's a secret bandsaw in a jigsaw Instead of "P1CC perfection" I almost called this thread "Jigsaw or Bandsaw" but didn't because of the double meaning. Meaning 1- Is this freaking thing a jigsaw or a bandsaw. Meaning 2- Which should I purchase…a jigsaw or a bandsaw. My meaning would have been the first one. I think most readers would assume the 2nd meaning.

7 - what is the longest blade you have tried with the P1CC so far? mafell-users-forum.freeforums.net/attachment/download/162I took this link from page 1 of this thread (P1cc perfection) If you go back to page 1 those blades in the post are still the longest I have used. Same answer on the material- those 4x4 posts are still the thickest material I have cut. I still have the chunk of 4x4 in my shop, can't bring myself to throw them away. My wife is ordering some stuff on Amazon, I'll go throw some of those 10" blades in the cart and see what they do.

That would be awesome...I would be really interested in seeing how they perform. I am almost there to taking a leap...will probably wait until I am ready to start my next project, but man I would love to have it in the next week or so to start playing with...

The long blades are on order now. This forum really is a good resource for these tools. No joke- I ordered my first mafell tools from information on the FOG. I thought it was crazy that people there wouldn't say their product was superior, usually that mafell was in fact. I was incredibly pleasantly surprised to find out that the P1cc cuts so well with the Bosch blades (or likely any blade). I was very nervous that the best results would only be possible with the really expensive W1 blades. I have had better results with regular cheap blades than the W1 because the W1s are so thick with such an aggressive tooth pattern. I would have loved to have all this info when considering the purchase. In fact I would have made the purchase months earlier if I had seen cuts with standard blades that remained square. As I have said multiple times I thought you needed a bandsaw to get square cuts in anything thicker than 3/4"…not sure I was even getting square in 3/4 MDF before.

I think I am going to take the plunge this week if I can lock in the old pricing. If not, then I will just wait until closer to my next project.
