Thanks, 7. I am more tempted...I have read just about everything I can on the saw, including the threads Jalvis posted that you have to translate from Russian and there really is no complaint I can find on it. Is there an extra orbital position on the switch? It appears that there is one more than most other jigsaws but could be wrong and it is hard to tell on a moving tool. Thanks It looks like it does have 5 spots- the 1st spot then 4 additional settings. This is one more than my Bosch jigsaw. I'll post a close up of that part of the saw tonight too.

A bit lengthy but here are the pics of walnut stock and curved cut through two layers. I wish I knew how to line up the pictures more than 3 at a time. ORBITAL SWITCH & a couple examples of the wavy walnut I referred to that I have a bunch of. Attachments:

The middle picture is funny. I felt the saw bog down a little bit so paused to look under assuming that this had happened. Good one. The pic on the right shows the two boards stacked on each other. I didn't really take any time to stabilize them between two tables or anything because I didn't plan on it actually working anyway so planned to re cut anyway.

We'll need to see some pics. I've being think of the same brain wave maybe. As it will make thinks interesting. The boards by the sounds of it are what you call waney edge where the shape of the tree is still on the edge. There is a type of flooring called bolle floor and none of it has a straight side here is a link www.bolefloor.com/en/That flooring is really cool. I bet it is expensive. Must come with numbers on the back and a installation plan. I am thinking about cutting my countertop into more pieces sort of like the flooring because with just the one irregular cut on such a shallow top looks like a mistake instead of a design theme.

Dude, that is awesome! as i understand there is no way to post more than three at a time I was pretty stoked with the almost accidental result. really opens a lot of artistic possibilities without spending a bunch of time getting things to fit. There are a couple tiny imperfections but only where i stopped and backed up an inch then restarted because i didn't set the boards very well in the first place. Even the couple tiny blips would be perfectly hidden with a little filler and sanding.

very cool! Which method will you use to join them?

I will just glue and clamp. No reason for dowels, biscuits etc (in my opinion) when there is long grain to long grain joining. I have done tests years ago and it seems true that the glue joint holds stronger than the wood grain itself, if not stronger still plenty strong.

Nice job with the cuts and makes very interesting. I would on the cuts put a slight aris on the edges do the joint looks like a strong feature as if it has always meant to be

That is exactly what I did actually, I thought the same thing that it looked kinda funny with just the one cut. If I filled and sanded it might look weird or like a mistake. I started with a 1/8" round over rout but immediately increased it using a wide round over bit. I also cut more wave lengths in it. I can't stop It is looking cool though.
