Scot- Sorry for any confusion, I think I have bad forum etiquette already so I didn't want to derail the KSS400 thread more than I already did but I had a question so moved it over here. Hopefully you see it.
Cutting limestone with a jigsaw sounds really cool. What kind of blade do you use for that? I am guessing you have to pour water on the cut as you go?? I do a lot of tile but haven't ever seen a diamond jigsaw blade. It could come in handy for some of the softer natural stone like limestone, marble, travertine, etc.

Had an opportunity to really put my P1CC to work today -- I ripped several 5/4 inch cherry boards today. Yes, I could have used a table saw or my TS75, but I wanted to see what this saw could do. Just used a Bosch Progressor type blade, the Mafell guide rail and went to town. WOW -- that is all I can say. Perfectly straight and square cuts. While not as fast as a circular saw, I was amazed at the cut quality -- no burning or tooth marks and it looked like it has come off of a circular saw. Never in a million years would I have expected this level of quality or accuracy.
Thinking about adding a couple more guide rails to my mix so that I can more easily rip longer boards. These were 9 foot lengths and even having to move the guide rail I got acceptable results.
Crazy...

Excellent stuff I don't know about you, most of the timbers we work with on site are 2" so the kss400 or mt55 for 99% of the time have enough cutting depth. There is the occasional time I have to rip 3" timbers and being able to use the jigsaw for the one off cuts is really handy

Yes - normally I would use a different saw, but I really had not had a chance to try the P1CC much until yesterday and so I thought, why not? Truly impressed. Now I am itching for one of the KSS saws...and more rails, and...oh boy...another slope to slide down.

I hope that you are blown away like I was...and I own and use all the premium saws -- Bosch and both Festools.

My first Mafell tool the P1CC is on it's way can't wait to test it out. I am not sure why but I think even those of us who already own the P1CC are interested in your review/ feedback. I guess I am trying to verify that I am objective like I try to be. Like Scot, I have tried other jigsaws and see no comparison in quality- both feel and the results.

Oh...I forgot. I did have a chance to use the 10 inch blades on my Mafell and they worked pretty good. Not a perfect 90, but I was able to track a straight line. I was cutting some 16/4 Hard Maple which is not an easy task. It actually cut pretty quickly...some vibration, but turning the speed down to 5 worked for me.

Yes, looking forward to your reviews. I received the package just now. I haven't given it a spin yet but will do so in the coming days. First reaction based on the look & feel: - Build quality, it's unlike anything I have ever seen in a tool. I looks as something that will outlive me.
- The weight, it's heavy, a bit too heavy for my taste but then again it's quality.
- The base looks like something that is nearly impossible to deform.
- Parallel fence is made of strong thick metal also impossible to deform with normal use.
- It's the best looking Mafell tool, it does look sexy unlike the other Mafell tools
- The finish, paint on the metal looks reasonably scratch resistant.
- The plastic parts are made out of high quality plastics
One con the tilting baseplate has degrees printed on it rather then a groove in the metal itself. On mine the degrees between 0 and 15 were already wiped for most of the part. The angles do not seem to 'click' into a specific angle. That's good as you can set your own angle as long you can see the scale for specific angles but clearly that's not the case. I will review the rest later when I give it a spin.

There should be positive stops at 22.5 degrees, I believe and 0 and 90 (obviously).
