Err... Not a Starmix, chaps. I might of course be wrong (it happens frequently), but I'm pretty sure it's from the Nilfisk/Alto/Wap stable, not Starmix.
Nevertheless, it's undoubtedly up there with the best of 'em. Pity it doesn't allow abrasive systainers on top 'though. Few of 'em do these days.
As far as "market dominance" is concerned, there's at least 3 large commercial "families" of dusties on the market: surely this allows for at least some price & feature competition. That any power tool mnf'r chooses one of the 2 big non-Tooltechnic/Festo/ol/Kraenzle makers is indicative that it's just a better extractor than they could hope to develop themselves economically. Either way, I'm sure you have a fine extractor that will assuredly perform the task competently & reliably for years & years.

Well I pulled the trigger. It seems very well made, love the auto filter clean feature. Cool ! (partial to the red myself) And between you and Tom, two people who seem to know their stuff, we should get some good reviews in time. I'm curious if the hose to vac attachment is bayonet or press fit ? How many amps is the pass through plug?

It also comes with a larger attachment to apply over a port as well as a similar attachment to Mafell's and Festool that insert into the tool port. The hose is (I wanna say) 35mm. Feels very high quality. The vac itself is also a very high quality unit.

Great to hear Calidecks!! I finally received my Nilfisk Attix 33 about a week ago and have been very happy with it thus far. I'm working on writing up a more detailed review, but here are a few highlights: Adapter Plate Kit 107413551 : There is an adapter plate available for the Attix vacs that should fit perfectly on the Milwaukee vacuum. The neat thing about the Nilfisk adapter plate is that it accommodates both the Tanos Systainer cases as well as the Sortimo L-BOXX cases. This is particularly handy since Mafell tools are sold in both styles of cases. The adapter plate kit installs with 4 screws and costs ~$25. The Hose: The Nilfisk hose is becoming one of my favorite things about this vacuum! The ID of the hose is 32mm, but the hose material is profoundly flexible, more flexible than my standard Festool 27mm AS hose, and I'd compare it favorably with a non-AS 27mm hose or the 36mm Planex hose. I've been using it on my P1cc and KSS-300 and haven't noticed the extra bulk, thanks to the supple flexibility of the hose. The red Nilfisk hose sold in the Attix 33-21 kit is antistatic. Special mention goes to the neat hose end. The Nilfisk hose utilizes an interesting locking hose end. This is similar in principle to the HILTI and Bosch hoses, but appears more functional (for my applications). The vac end of the hose has a nice rotating 50mm cuff. The tool end screws directly to the hose and does not rotate. This locking end makes a very nice, secure connection to the stainless steel extension wand, or the rubber 27mm tool nozzle, both of which freely rotate once connected. The rubber 27mm nozzle will be very familiar to users of the Festool 27mm hoses, and may be a good resource for those who are unhappy with the redesigned Festool nozzle. As you would guess, the 27mm nozzle fits great with most of my smaller Mafell tools such as my DD-40P, P1cc, KSS-300, KSS-400, Erika 70, and MT-55cc. (I'll post all of my pics in a larger, future review) Interestingly, I removed the 27mm rubber nozzle, and it turns out that the Nilfisk hose fits over and LOCKS on the MT-55cc dust port! It works remarkably well, better than relying on the friction fit of the 27mm hose. This will be my preferred method of connection for the MT-55cc, and by extension should work just as well on the KSS-50, KSS-60, and KSS-80. The hose also fits over other standard ports like those on the Erika, My OF-1400, and other ports you would traditionally slide a 36mm rubber hose end over. I'll post up a more detailed review of the Attix 33 in a few weeks, much of which will apply directly to the Milwaukee vac. I also recently bought an Oneida Air Systems Dust Cobra which I've been VERY happy with, which I will also post a review of soon.

I note that Festo/ol have re-introduced the Electrolux type hoses with their vacs, with finer, less pronounced corrugations & a presumably hard-wearing & undoubtedly slippery woven nylon outer. The major difference is that these new hoses are also reportedly super flexible too. No more catching those damned hoses all the time on guiderail ends, workpiece arrises & the like. Those old Elextrolux hoses as smooth & slippery as they were, are about as stiff as a turgid length of throbbing gristle.
All in all, a worthwhile update to solve a problematic issue. Apparently, the new hoses will also lock into each others' ends too: "male" to "female", female to male. You can coil & lock the ends together to store or carry (a good thing) or extend/connect 2+ hoses into one big, longer one. It makes a little more sense of their much criticised bayonet tool-end hose fittings now.
It's also all but guaranteed to unleash a financial bonanza as hundreds of thousands of cashed-up US (& presumably other nationality) users stampede to their dealers to trade up to this all-new, must-have accessory in their droves.
Who says vacuum cleaners aren't sexy? Apparently, A&E departments the world over regularly witness rather the embarrassing consequences of erotic encounters with vacuum cleaners. It's most definitely NOT an urban myth!
A happy & safe new year to one & all.

I've been ghostwriting fetish columns in the back of rubbersuit gimp weeklies, dedicated to the python 🐍 pleasures I foresee in a few weeks. Also ran, I thought Tom was rockn' the metabo mix? Will the two vacs fight to the death?
