A quick note, since it was briefly brought up in another thread. The Flexi hose that comes with the Aerofix kit is 600mm and stretches to a length of 1600mm, so no 8ft rips without ordering the longer Flexi hose (205276). This hose is really flexible...

It looks like the included track comes equipped with the under mount system but the top mount attachment can be attached to any track.
Is there any advantage to the included track vs just mounting the top mount bracket to the length you want to use?
It seems like the top mount piece would be more out of the way?? There has got to be a reason for the bottom mount. What am I missing?

As far as specific uses, if you need to rip or crosscut you want the rail to hang off the end of the piece your cutting otherwise you have to start your cut with a plunge. The top mount attachment is designed for instances when you need to plunge, like a sink cutout on a countertop.

That makes sense about the hoses hanging with gravity from the bottom. Hadn't considered that. The top mount bracket probably needs to be on top of the wood in order to create the suction right? I think I get it now.

Does anyone know: 1. What is the minimum width size piece of wood that the aerofix can latch onto? 2. What is the nozzle size in mm of the hose?
Thanks.

Theres also an attachement that comes with it so you can fix it to a floor or wall

Suction is applied between the two anti-slip strips. The distance from the cut line to the anti-slip strip on the back side of the rail is around 140mm. 2. Festool's 27mm hose will fit on both the vac and saw connections.

Thanks, Woodie! Would you kindly indulge me a couple more questions?
1. Does splitting up the duty of the vacumm with the Aerofix and the track saw diminish the dust collection capabilies?
2. Now, that you've had the Aerofix for awhile, do you see any other advantages of having it, other than a little extra speed?
