We all know a decent vacuum extractor is the way to go when sawing, but sometimes a vacuum isn't available, on site, so I'm looking for a decent dust collection bag for my saw, as a back-up option.
Can any of you recommend such a bag particularly suited to the MT55CC?
Cheers.

calidecks had a Fest bag on one of his saws LINK (photo half way down page). Might ask him how he likes it.
Most everyone has one of those useless chopsaw collection bags laying around or stored somewhere, bet one of those could be taped onto or coupled with an adapter.

Ok, found an old chop saw dust bag and just used a hose cuff to connect. (still think my 'marfell' dust collector has potential)

I very much dislike Makita's slide binder method of sealing dust bag. So much so that the bag in photo was hardly used though it's probably 20+ years old. I ordered a Hitachi bag once with similar wire spring clip attachment as the Bosch photo without realizing the Hitachi saws it was made for had a 2-½" nozzle. I'm sure the Bosch is sized closer to 38mm but you might double check. I'm thinking of salvaging the interior plastic backbone from the Makita and using heat gun to flare out the little arms/fingers wider then constructing my own bag with a zipper

I tried every left over bag I had in my arsenal from years gone by and none worked very well. I finally got the Festool bag working perfectly. I had to reinvent the wheel though. I almost completely aborted the idea. What eventually worked is I had to fabricate a new plastic port. It works better straight vs. The 45 degree it comes standard with. This is all on the kss60. But I believe the port hole and concept are the same for the mt55cc.

wow - those mini cyclones look great (I think I want one).

cadillacs have you and reflector ever talked about your KSS60 (?)
- thanks for tip on straight connector vs angled on dust bags.

@ Calidecks: I can totally see how/why the Festool bag works well, given that its internal wire frame sensibly ensures that the bag is kept fully expanded, to allow good passive flow of dust from the saw dust chute into the back of the bag. However, it irritates the heck out of me that Festool screw, screw, screw, and screw some more, on the pricing of their primary and their accessory products - to which I say, in return: "well, screw you, too, Festool!" ;-) ...Speaking of which, I was comparing the price of the Kapex 'miterfast' angle finder (goniometer), earlier this morning, and was, not for the first time, absolutely disgusted with the pricing - more than triple that of the YoungCo OneShot or BORA MiteriX angle finders / goniometers... I despair of Festool - a company with such enormous potential, scuppered by greed. [/End Rant] Anyway, I ordered a very cheap mitre saw dust bag, and I will upload a pic of it attached to my MT55CC when I receive it through the mail. Here's the one I ordered - unfortunately, it has a feeble internal wire frame that doesn't expand the bag enough, but I intend to modify it a little, probably using a coat-hanger. For the money, it's a no-brainer, as it's ridiculously cheap and won't hurt my wallet if it turns out to not work well with the MT55CC: www.evolutionstore.co.uk/accessories/dustbags/lgmodels.phpIt 100% definitely fits the MT55CC, as my dad has the exact same dustbag on his Evolution mitre saw, so I've been able to temporarily fit it to my MT55CC (without doing any sawing). Cheers, everyone, for all the suggestions, and I'll report back on whether it's a success or a damp squib ;-)

Is this bag on the new MT55 cordless just a repurposed bag from another system? If not - wonder how much it will cost?

2017 catalog only has 206787 dust bag for the 40. So I guess the dust bag pictured on the MT55 18M bl is new. Looking at the video it seems there's some sort of Mafell engineering going on. The red area below inlet is a trigger release(?) Perhaps a quick disconnect shuts off both exhaust port on saw and the bag as well - in tandem (?) Maybe not, that would be a tall order without making a mess. edit - oh, ok so you don't get a zipper. The red horse shoe is something that quick clamps onto the existing saw exhaust and then once the bag is pulled off you un-snap the clip on top of the bag to open the 'hatch' and empty from front. (?)

Yeah, the dustbag for the KSS 40 18M BL looks very different, doesn't it?: (image credits: ebay.co.uk/itm/Mafell-KSS-40-18M-BL-Cross-Cutting-system-/122496720019?nma=true&si=%252FfV8vYOPX875hMdhwaQrexhjhZs%253D&orig_cvip=true)The one in your posted pic looks the same as the one on the KSS50 18M (maybe also identical, on the MT55 18M bl you mentioned). I like that they've incorporated a decent bag-expanding internal wire frame, just like I was describing earlier, in relation to Festool's dustbag, although it's a pity if this new Mafell dustbag lacks a zip (and pretty lame if Mafell ommitted this, especially considering how expensive this accessory is likely to be): http://instagr.am/p/BUcLhqtAZVI

omg, I've found the perfect solution sitting right under our noses the whole time. Pure Genius! We don't need dust bags or vacuums any more! Can't believe Mafell didn't figure this out - those idiots. Once again, You're Welcome.
