The local shop wanted $500... I suppose I could try again with a CAD file in hand, but they may just want to see the back of me. i could try again if you have a CAD file. yeah $500 is definitely being shut down at the goal post. I’ve found guys with older ‘Shop-Bots’ in medium sized shops who, while not cheap, are very reasonable. Five sounds like it may have been a larger production shop(?) Maybe a search to first determine lowest level of CNC table capable of good results and then searching the enthusiast / hobbyist forums for that/those brand(s) to locate someone with a setup local to you? *edit - Oh wait, I just saw that you didn't have a file for them when you enquired. Got to think they could have been adding on if they thought they were going to have to create the file instead of just check it and run it.

If you have a file and the size of MDF I need,, then I could try again...

Does the perforated top need to be screwed and fixed down on a table otherwise it will bend warp or go out of square?
in that case would the birch wood be better?
I was planing to have it in storage and take out in the van the days I require it's use .
i have a set of small faithful engineer squares so I could set up the fwa with that to cut away the factory edge on say a 900 deep worktop accurately ?
what size perforated top wood be suitable to cut 600 and 900 work tops btw?

If you have a file and the size of MDF I need,, then I could try again... What size top do you need?.. and what file format does your CNC guy need? It's pretty easy to knock up a file like that.

Probably a 1200x2400 or 1220x2440 sheet, but maybe 3m long sheet. I would be happy with whatever you used, and I am not overly fussy... Just a sheet to put on trestles.

Regarding on-site work and MFT style tables like the birch ply one already mentioned, you should check out the following project, My 2 pennies: mafell-users-forum.freeforums.net/post/16075I'll be making one, too, in the coming weeks.
