okay. I like the Mafell bag due to its shape better than the Festool bag. However I like the Festool connector. Do you see where I'm going with this?

A bayonet fitting so it doesn't so readily fall off?

It's very disappointing to have to re-engineer what's suppose to be some of the world's best tool engineering.

What's perhaps even more disappointing to me is that such a silly, basic, easily recognised & rectified flaw could've passed muster into final production. Especially considering the protracted delay in delivery to customers, presumably to iron out just such production bugs.
I'd quite rightly be expecting nothing less than a running fix, offered promptly & free of charge to all registered customers tout suite.

That is pretty crazy if you ask me with this design.

Awesome update with the Family photo. Good thing you found the missing piece for the trigger, I would have opened up mine to compare/help out if you hadn't. I could tell from your first picture that something was out of place/ missing! I like that the dust chute / port rotates but I agree that the flare makes it lose one practical feature (flush cutting). What do you think about that huge Container? It houses a lot of air apart from the saw and acc's. I got some wheels for it today and will try and outfit it with them to make it more mobile. / Henrik

I kick myself in the head (kidding, I am not that agile) for throwing out a small box with adapters and pieces for dustports last week when I was cleaning out the workshop... EDIT: that Festool end fits well into the dust port on the machine. I have a straight Festool bayonet that I tried out. Well, most regular vac nozzles should fit well, it is just the Dustbag that doesn't...

Some side by side pictures with the KSS 50/40: They are quite different in design I would say. Last picture is the Mafell case stuffed with a Festool Planer, the Metabo LF724s paint router/stripper, a Speed Heater, one Mirka DEOS Sander and the RAS115 with accessories and with some room to spare. It was still manageable in weight and these are pretty much the power tools I use for window restoration, handtools ride in a SYS or two. I picked up some matching wheels and an axle for the case, will shop for a heavy duty handle tomorrow. I have a telescopic handle from a cart but it is a bit heavy and fiddly to fit though it is the right size.

Unfortunately this picture is out of focus (was hard to see on the phone) but it took me ten minutes to find a workable solution with the odds and ends in my leftovers... ...there were a few decent solutions to be made up on the fly but the ones that fit the best did add some length to the outfit so I went with this, simple and secure. It is a piece of a Bosch vac adapter that fits really well onto the dustbag and a piece of a 2$ rubber adapter for a vac I had lying around. It was cut down a little so I need to fork out for a new one, but it fits really well on both ends and is much more secure than the dustbag straight to port.

I'm digging the light. Oftentimes I'm trying to see a pencil mark on a dark peice of composite. The light will work out great. Over all I like it. Still working on the bag situation. I got three of them so I can experiment.

Haha, we are simultaneously working on that solution, yours look very secure! Mine was a makeshift one that will probably end up being "it" unless I can source up your solution. Good job!
I am not sure about that snap on lock on the Dustbag, it looks prone to failure. I don't think that lock will last for long.

PS
The light is great. I like that it is a motion sensor so I don't have to press anything to get it going. I usually scribe with the Talmeter so the light does help.

I wonder what type of plastic the bag port is, ABS? seems soft for ABS.

Not sure but it could very well be ABS. The Bosch adapter I fitted over the Dustbag is hard, yet flexible and "rubbery" in feel, so it sits very secure. I am not sure what plastic that is but it does the job. A lockable solution like yours is the way to go I think.
EDIT; I think I have seen an adapter that is the "right" kind of plastic that would work both ends really well and be deep seated on either side. Can't look it up until Monday though.
Is the one you are working with a Festool nozzle?

Wondering if ABS glue would work. It's kind of a one shot deal though.
