By the way, be careful when looking for bench dog products - some are 19mm (3/4") diameter, and some are 20mm diameter, so be very certain you are buying 20mm for your 20mm holes! Similarly, be careful when buying ratchet-clamps/G-clamps/speed-clamps/trigger-clamps that insert through those holes (as demonstrated in the MFTC video I linked earlier). Some clamps will not fit through, even though they look very similar. If they're specifically sold as being compatible with Festool's MFT then that's a pretty safe bet. It's not a problem to obtain the right ones; it's just that you have to have your wits about you, when buying.

Good refresher info. I've come back around again to bench dogs for quick squaring on a portable table.
This has also given me an idea of how to simply use dogs with mafell rail and not have interference (besides using a flat bar spacer). Thanks.

Is the flat bar spacer you mentioned to avoid catching the motor housing on the pegs / dogs?

That and the overhang of the base off the rail. There are occasions where both can be a problem.

I'm not 'seeing' what you're referring to (in that particular photo), kraftt - can you elaborate, a little, please? Do you mean the same thing as your post here: mafell-users-forum.freeforums.net/thread/860/clearing-dogsor something different?

If you're doing this using mafell rail - - the base of the saw overhangs the rail. So you use some precision 'dog collars' - (bottom red grooved side is machined to tight tolerance to be perfectly perpendicular to a clamped dog if grooved side is placed facing down)for clearance - (adjustable to thickness of material being cut)
