I'm out of my depth (not that I have any depth) but would a Thien baffle do any better with the fine particles vs cyclone ?
* was assuming the plastic cone when you mentioned cyclone.

I think it really, really depends. Within conic cyclones, there's so much variation in the designs which will change how well fines separate out from big, fluffy particles and big, dense particles.
The CV06 mini I have is the scaled down Bill Pentz design, which seems to achieve good separation for smaller particles. I suspect modern multicyclonic designs found on bagless vacuums may achieve better fine separation than a single stage like the CV06 mini since they're optimized for that, they have relatively limited filter capacity after the cyclone.

Red hose came in with swivel cuffs. Sent grey instead of black because they were out, have to order black from someone else. This red one is slightly wider in diameter (almost 3mm) than blue and is a bit more supple. Apparently the real mfg just ran a batch of red so it seems like tolerances both chemically & size-wise are loose there. Suction is great and while it’s not that far removed from pool hose there is enough of a difference, to me, that I’m satisfied. i.e. for a shop vac I can’t complain. The pluses = price, quality of suction, color, length, overshadow any shortcomings. With ship total came to $35 & change including cuffs. Blue one was a sample so I’ll sell that and it’s a wash. fwiw - went looking for black swivel cuffs (made by Dreco) and Kleen-Rite’s web site has good pricing - 1.40 for 1-½”/38mm and 2.60 for 2” but they get you on shipping - 12.00.

Still can't figure out where to find a hose that goes from the one type of connector to the same type of connector. All I can find are hoses that go from one type of connector to a different type of connector.

Could you be more specific?
