I build sets as my main source of income. From demon churches in silent Hill to sections of the white house roof in the Sentinel buried in ice alien space ships in the thing and offices and high end apartments on suits where I currently work though the majority of my time now is spent on set while they're shooting to make changes as needed for camera (suits).
I don't like working for some reason when the homeowner is looking over my shoulder. It just feels awkward. I bet you had to get over that one fast if you were ever bothered in the first place. You definitely get the most unique work type prize.
ha ya but sometimes it whizzes by in a flash. what can take weeks to build can sometimes be 10 seconds on film...and then the movie could suck and no one cares. we still have art directors trying to tell us how to build and a lot of the general chaos that most carpenters have to deal with when working professionally such as deadlines and the like, but we're ALWAYS paid so that's a big plus
That was me, that cxs is still rocking. It can get boring doing what I'm doing now on set. Suits is a drama so nothing explodes and I kind of operate in a standby mode with the shooting crew. They call me in as needed, and during shooting I can't make any noise so it limits what I can do just waiting around. (tools make noise)
Found this on the old YouTube. At the end of part 2 and the start of part three you can see some sets that I worked on. Also snagged a couple of picks of some of our large sound stage sets in construction which I'll upload in a bit. Mind you they were taken by a lighting guy so no real close ups on the vital stuff for us. Anyway check out these "behind the scenes" videos. These are snippets of them shooting not building but you get to see some sets in the raw.
abdon: I stand corrected , the angle fence is only attaches with F -Tracks , what confused me was , that the Timberwolf site mentioned it will work with the NFU machine, yes it will work but only I guess when you use the Ftrack , with other tracks Like the KSS L.

glynnco: Did you order from GereedschapPro? I see them as in stock but I'm located in the US and am not sure if they ship here. I sent them an email asking about shipping but it was returned undeliverable...

jonathan: I've purchased a lot of stuff from our neighbours @ GereedschapPro.nl As far as I know they are one of the larger Mafell dealers in the EU. I can recommend them, they usually respond quickly.
