I came across this YouTube channel and the maker, Laura Kampf, has an Erika and uses it for all kinds of projects. She is a pretty accomplished woodworker and metal worked and I enjoy her videos. Cool seeing Mafell tools in action. www.youtube.com/channel/UCRix1GJvSBNDpEFY561eSzw

The Germans and Scandinavians always are more cool and reserved. I'm a norwegian and love the cool weather. But if i had to work inside bundled up in a jacket in my shop id turn on the heat and work in a t shirt. I can't have sleeves working in a shop with woodworking machinery. have to at least roll up my sleeves. outside I'm sweating on a 30 degree day. my guys laugh when i take off my hat and they see steam coming off my head.

Does that mean that the spirit of the Viking "beserker" lives on?

It does here... The local TV network has "Vikings" on, recently it was "The Bridge", "Midnight Sun", and a bunch of movies like "Troll Hunter", and one about Palme's assassination. The Haus-Boss asked at lunch today what I wanted for my Birthday, and, "I said shipping on an Erika??". She said, "OK".

I watched a bunch of the clips and while I enjoyed the videos and seeing the tools in action.. can't say I was all that impressed with the actual projects. I mean, they're fine, I guess? I'm not a huge fan of the "Maker Faire" aesthetic. I kind of just lump in with the Tiny Houses and home made CNC/RP machines.. Anyhow, excuse me while I get some kids off of my lawn..

Another cool video that I just viewed. It is in German, but the subtitles are pretty good.
