Aaron, do you own a miter saw? I ask because with the functions of the Erika and your kss 400 a miter saw is almost obsolete with the exception of crown moldings I suppose.

I dont see why you couldn't cut crown flat on the Erika. OR.....build a jig to cut crown nested on the Erika!

Yeah I own a dewalt dw717 I think that's the one it's the little one that rails go into the motor it was a good little saw. The guy I work for has the dewalt scms that everyone seems to have and the stand usually it gets set up down stairs and I'll use it then have the erika upstairs and use to safe going up and down. Like Jonathan says cutting small pieces is far safer on the erika then any rips will also be done one the erika. I don't really do a lot of crown moulds but I know there is a jig or thing that tells you the compound angle to cut with a table saw but not sure what they are called I just work on mainly timber kits which is giant jigsaw puzzle all your dwangs ( noggins) come pre cut in pacs the doors come in kits all hung there isn't much skill in it and I find boring bit it pays a wage

You would need to build extension wings just like a miter saw. The Erika even has (dovetail)mounting brackets on the sides that would make this really simple. With the pull function its just like a miter saw only the blade is bellow rather than above. I talked with a builder on another forum who has been using the Erika for moldings for over ten years. Thats a builder in the USA and his Erika is the older green version. He told me that after using the Erika in this fashion theres very little need for a miter saw and hasn't used one in years.
