Forgot to also mention that all of the tools we have in stock are in T-LOC Systainers with the exception of the KSS 400 which does not come in a Systainer due to its size.

Is it my imagination, or do the Green forum members not appreciate the Red tools? It would be interesting to get more insight into the differences of tools that I may be considering.

Shane, welcome to the family of red. Got some questions For tool repair, how does your company deal with that? Repair parts for out of warranty issues, same question on parts availability. (I'm not expecting a USA inventory, that would be nuts). Does your store ever do group buys, or are you locked into not doing that with Mafell? I'm curious in terms such as 5-6 people or more wanted to buy something like the KSS400. If you read the history here there is a hunger looking through the candy store window. Enough so to deal with importing and 220vac tools.

Timberwolf is the Mafell authorized service center in the U.S.. All warranty claims will be serviced by them. We can help coordinate repairs with our customers as needed under warranty. For spare parts, we are able to support customers with parts for the tools and accessories that we sell. Since we are new to Mafell, I'm sure we will learn in the coming months what the most common spare parts are and stock them as needed to support our customers. Regarding group buys, we cannot offer savings for orders placed by multiple customers. If one customer places a single order with multiple tools, there may be modest savings that we can offer. I would suggest that you contact us by phone to discuss this since our website currently does not apply these automatically. Mafell has a brand equity program that's very similar to Festool and some other brands. Shane

Shane,
Thanks for the straight up answers so we all are on a stable footing. Thanks also for offering the shipping discount as that helps when your locked into an equity program and limited in your sales program abilities.

It's been a while since I have been on here, but very good news! Shane is well known and respected on "that other" forum. It's a joy to have him involved here as well. I also welcome a Mafell supplier that is nearly local.

I for one am glad to hear this -as timbers shipping is ridiculous. i under stand business but making money off of shipping is not good business. I'm willing to pay shipping but doubling it really chaps my hide. they can tell me till they are blue in the face that they don't but $40 dollars to ship me a jig saw and i can fedex it back to them for $15 with out an account?? any way thats one thing that really bothered me and now i got that off my chest - tool nut will receive any future orders (hope fully a mf26 someday)
***shane- is it possible to order just the t-locs preferably for mt55 and p1cc

***shane- is it possible to order just the t-locs preferably for mt55 and p1cc Matt, we do not have the Systainers available separately right now. Let me check and see if we can get them in and get back to you. Regarding the MF 26, I had the opportunity to check it out in person and it looks like a really cool tool for the right applications. We don't have it in the line up right now, but this will be one that we'll want to add in the near future. If you need it before we add it to the website, reach out and I'll see what we can do to help you out. Thanks, Shane

Shane - if you could investigate getting the battery power tools that would be huge -- I know that the charges might be 220V, but they either take Metabo or Bosch batteries so getting a US charger is not an issue. The new KSS60, KSS40 battery saws would be great and the drills as well or if you sold Metabo with the chucks that would be huge as well. You cannot find a right angle chuck easily.

I could see the battery tools being a total bounty/bumper-crop for TN... I got 3 chucks of the straight Metabo Centrotec style chucks in a couple of weeks ago from Amazon.de, for pretty cheap. Of course whipping was pretty dear. I was getting a couple of 230v drills so not drama. There would be a few things that TN may wish to stock... Jigsaw blades are one. I have some spider blades I need to try, but the Ma dfell a ones work so nice...

Shane, I'll continue your education on why on some forums I'm considered a curmudgeon, but they're just tough questions.
One other thing other then shipping that has chaffed my buns about your competitor is everything is ala cart, while its quite easy for us to see retailers in the European environment sell items like the MT55 in a package deal, with rails, carrying case, clamps, connector. Historically that usually is a cost benefit for those just getting into the product line of a manufacturer as elements of that padkage are utilized with other equipment. A good marketing program.
I don't know if the mother ship wholesales packages like that, but I know other companies that do for the retailers. Your sales program is in its infancy but I see you do have a light package available for the MT55, including the rails. I already have what I would consider the jackpot of all the items in a perfect MT55 package, so I'm not looking for me. If Mafell does sell to the retailer a "package" that would save compared to the brand equity program that's in place and a leg up on the competition. The former second retailer of Mafell tools in the USA before they were assimilated into TW used to do that I believe. If Mafell does not and its left to the retailer to do their own package, i.e. Wholesale is ala cart, never mind, I understand. Maybe my bun chaffing is self induced as I don't know the intricies of Mafell distribution programs.
