at 2:57 on the video below Heiko Reich shows a type of hardware I have not seen before,it is not a conventional cross dowel arrangement,can anyone identify it?

Hey skinee , looks like these ..... link hi joe,no, those in your link are cam and dowel,they are pretty commonplace here in the UK,the connector in the video is different,it seems to be a metal dowel with a depression of some type near the end,then there is a threaded insert into which a grub screw is inserted,the bottom of the grub screw must come into contact with the depression or indent in the dowel and somehow pull the joint closed,its certainly a type of connector that I have not seen before,perhaps a member on here who speaks German would message Heiko Reich and ask about it?
