I got a second base, in order to attach the second base to a table I am building (I'll post plans and pics when done, if anyone interested). I wanted to remove the plastic bottom off the base, to gain an extra 1mm, but after I removed the torx screws, it did not budge. It seems as if it should be removable, but then I realized it might be heat molded into the alum.
Thoughts?
Thx

Never tried, myself. Am interested in your designs of course. Wonder if the parts manual has any clues

Not sure if its removable according to the Mafell diagram: service.mafell.de/media/explosionszeichnungen/917103-2a.gifIt definitely is a separate part, but it is listed as part of the assembly with the torx screws. A cautious suggestion: Try sticking in a thin piece of wood or plastic and gently pushing it or lightly tapping the footplate in your hand. It might just be stuck in from being tapered and being wedged into the metal baseplate.

If. It is taped on some acetone may with the thin stick or butter knife. Assuming the plastic is not affected...?

If you don't need the plastic then you should not worry if it breaks. I doubt it is part of the alumininium base so just try prying it apart.
