What about a local shop? You could start with 1/4" x 1/2" and file it down to fit if you did not have a milling machine.
'online metals' maybe be easier and they are south of you.

Try McMaster or someplace - I think I found flat bar stock before but did not buy it. Also, you could just use plywood if it is a one-time trammel you needed. www.mcmaster.com/#standard-steel-sheets/=11svxo7You would have to rip to width, but it is the right thickness and cut to any length - cheap too.

Aluminum would also be an option - easier to machine.
