As promised and with Ron's permission here's a link to his youtube vid in which he describes his plan and improvements he's made to his successful design. Plan's are well thought out and extremely detailed without being over complicated, for 10 bones they're a worthy purchase if not for inspiration alone. A link to his site linkand to check out all of Ron's vids and some of his other creations, here's a link to his youtube page link

So after watching some of his youtube vids about the construction and seeing the inside of the table I have a question for Jalvis or anyone else that uses this table.
Do the dividers that are in the middle for strength negatively affect either clamping or storage of longer items like rails?

Ive never had a problem with the dividers getting in the way. Especially since theres so many holes for clamping. As for the rail storage I dont like to store the rail in the bench itself and either lean the rail someplace in the shop or place it on the lower saw horse shelf.

I've made a similar one to the paulk bench but I didn't put any dividers down the middle and still seem to be more then strong enough for general use I.e putting the chop saw on it and using it as an assembly table mind you I've not drilled holes in the stop for clamping ...

mafell-users-forum.freeforums.net/attachment/download/165The link is a picture of an insert for my table top. I drilled a lot of holes in the top and it is still really strong. I doubt your table would feel any different with holes. I have a couple other inserts with far fewer holes but they all feel the same in strength.

When I get around to it I'll prob give it a go, I've put a router table and fence on mine as well and that works superb especially on site when you can really set up a dedicated router table.

How are you switching power on and off on your router? is it a deep reach or do you have a secondary switch?

Looking into getting a remote switch but for now its a case of leaving it on and using switch at socket to operate.

If you want a cheap but affective remote switch get the remote systems used for Christmas lights at your local hardware store. I got a pack of three for $20 and works great.
