We left near LAX and got to the Maloof house bang on 1:59 for the 2pm tour. It was nice. Definitely a lot of pined joints and few screws.

Holmz, we're planning on going to the US next December - is the Maloof house a worthwhile visit?

Yeah, would be silly not to have a look. Would like to check out Stahl House, as well.

Holmz, we're planning on going to the US next December - is the Maloof house a worthwhile visit? Depends on who is "we" and where you'se are headed. The Mrs liked it and the tour is 90 minutes, so that passes a big test. If it was a trip with kiddies with Disneyland, etc, then maybe it would not be worth it unless you ditch family and go out. If you are doing the South west national parks as a road trip, or driving to Vegas, hen it is ~4km off the main road, and at 10 $US is a no brainer. One can do Grand Canyon, Brice, Zion, 4 corners, Mesa Verde, Vegas, Chaco etc, which is great if one is into indian ruins and/or nature. If one is into shopping and shows, then skip it and go to Vegas. December would not generally be the ideal time for a US trip.
