Thanks. I did the detail with the tails as I did a warm roof system. With the overhang of the roof to give the walls a bit of protection from all but driving rain. I felt to have the soffit to the underside of the joists then the the facia it makes the facia look rather heavy and out of proportion. Where by making a feature of the joist tails and not having a heavy facia I feel it keeps things balanced

This is coming out great, Aaron. What are you going to do to the inside? Is this going to be your workshop and if so, are you going to finish the inside or leave it open?

The inside at the moment is a bit a guddle. At the moment on the inside the walls have all being insulated with 75mm kingspan type insulation then sheated with 18mm osb ply. The ceiling area will be left open to give the feeling of space. I might use them as storage pods for bits and pieces but not decided on that yet. After I've finished cladding the outside I will go back to making the workbench I started then on to making the tool storage area etc. So plenty to keep busy with

A builder's house always seems to take the longest to finish but its typically worth the wait when the dust finally settles.

I'd rather take longer and be completely satisfied with it for years to come than take a short cut and have no satisfaction from the end result. Being satisfied ,to me is more important than time taken or cost. Obviously over time things will get tweaked organically , but if I can get a good Base with how things work be it in storage or use then I'll be happy

Love the new camera, as I said. Interesting dowels, they seem to have some clamping action with the barbs as you pointed out. Great showing of the erika as a miter saw station then a table saw! Shed looks the business!

At the beginning I was using a Sony action cam then at the weekend as a little treat to myself I got myself a new Canon eos m10 and a tripod. At the start I was getting frustrated with the lighting or trying to work out where to place the camera for best lighting and not get a big shadow and a dark patch. It's all trial and error and trying to make it make sense to anyone who does watch the whole clip
