Wow, that is a good price ! I am soooOOoo jealous now ! I'd be interested to read your opinion of the MT55 vs the TS55, and specifically if miter cuts are better.

Thank you all for your feedback. Lincoln, you were right, there was an info sheet with the rail. The instructions are quite sparse though with some funny sounding translations. Holmz, it makes perfect sense to use the scoring function for trimming the splinter guard, thanks for that. I’m very happy with the deal. I was a bit nervous buying from German website relaying on Google Translate, but it worked out well. The guarantee comes directly from Mafell anyway. I forgot rail clamps and I emailed the shop asking them to add them to the order and I was sorted straight away and in English The kit arrived a week later. The only boring bit is the european plug. I thought about cutting the cable and replacing it with the UK one, but I think it might invalidate warranty, so I’ll use an adapter instead. JM, the saw is rated at 230 volts, so it should be fine in the UK, where we have 240. Wolfhound, I haven’t had a chance to play with the saw properly, but I’ll certainly be posting my thoughts, especially about the mitre cuts. I have high expectations about it!

pawelHmm, any tips on how to get through checkout? I added what I wanted to my cart, entered addresses and everything, but I can't click on anything when it comes time to select a shipping method. But maybe that's because I'm in the US (even though it accepts my US address)...

JM, I'm not sure why that happens, I guess there is a chance they don't ship to US. I would call them as Holmz says or email them to confirm. When I contacted them I sent email in English and added text in German translated through Google Translate and they replied in English. Good luck!

If you like to shop on-line, it gets no better than Dictum. Electrowerk I often call, and I get the same person and good email exchange, and the price is good. I more often go through them. When I went to get the saw from Dictum is was 800 Eu shipping because of some drama on the rail length (which was probably a database issue). I got the saw without the rails from Electrowerk as they could not be bothered to work out why the shipping on the saw was $50 Eu and the shipping on the rails was 50Eu and the shipping on both was ~800Eu. I ordered Bosch rails in country and that took ~7 weeks... So the Gods were against me like in a Greek tragedy or Norse story.

holmz This was from lefeld.de, seems like they won't do it though. This was for the Metabo KGS 18 LTX cordless sliding miter saw, that Toolstop stopped carrying for some reason. It has proven impossible to acquire, so I might just save my pennies for the KSS 40 18M bl then. I have the Bosch GCM12SD, but was looking for something lighter to lug around.

The costs for shipping that Metabo from Europe to the US must be massive. You could try some other seller though. As Holmz said, Dictum have quite good prices, as do toolnation.nl (cheapest place for Festool stuff I've seen). I have bought stuff from both these dealers and they are very good !

Tobias seems to get good pricing on shipping if you are near an airport or shipping port.
